Photographic Tours in Portugal

Portugal is our base, and where we can find exceptional habitats. This region has extensive oak forests, cork oak forests, alpine meadows, swamps, extensive wetlands, a rocky coastline, an extensive unexplored ocean, and several islands with endemic fauna. In our photographic trips we will try to record the most charismatic species, such as vultures, orioles, blackbirds, shrimps, blue magpies, otters, horned vipers and Lusitanian salamanders. Some of our tours have been timed to coincide with the stunning spring and fall bird migrations and congregations along the coastline.

Our Expert Recommends

“Photographing in shelters allows us to get closer to the animals and, in addition to photographing them, we can also observe their behavior!”

Also take a look at our observation tours

In addition to photography, we offer several wildlife observation tours in Portugal. Each tour offers the opportunity to glimpse birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and insects in different habitats and situations. Our selection of tours takes us to visit some of the most unexplored places and enjoy Portugal's wildlife. Here are some of our observation tours that you can choose from:

  • Birdwatching in the Mindelo Reserve – This coastal reserve is home to different species.

  • Birdwatching in the Tagus Estuary – The Tagus Estuary is one of the most important wintering areas in Europe.

  • Birdwatching in the Douro Estuary – The mouth of the Douro River is a place where many species congregate.
