BETWEEN THE OPEN FIELDS OF THE ALENTEJO, THE SALTY LAGOONS OF THE ALGARVE AND THE LARGE IBERIAN RESERVES, WE DISCOVER A WORLD OF FREEDOM. A JOURNEY WHERE EVERY DAY REVEALS NEW SPECIES AND NEW LANDSCAPES.
This 8-12 day itinerary is a true celebration of the bird diversity of the Iberian Peninsula. We begin in the vast plains of Castro Verde, home to great bustards and little bustards, then head to the salt marshes and islands of Tavira and Ria Formosa, where waders, flamingos and herons liven up the tides, cross to the legendary Doñana, home to imperial eagles, kestrels and vibrant colonies of water birds, and continue on to the cliffs and forests of Monfragüe, where griffon vultures, black vultures and golden eagles dominate the skies. The route also includes wetlands and dehesas between Portugal and Spain, exploring diverse habitats in search of emblematic species and moments of rare natural beauty. Each journey is carefully planned to offer the best conditions for observation, photography and interpretation of the natural environment. Ideal for those who want to delve deep into the ornithological richness of the southern Iberian Peninsula, with specialized guidance and authentic experiences surrounded by nature.
