Portugal is home to an astonishing diversity of reptiles, which inhabit a wide variety of landscapes — from sandy areas and coastal dunes, to Mediterranean forests and montados. Our photography outings are designed to maximize the opportunities for observing and photographing these animals in the wild, always respecting their natural behavior and the principles of ethics in nature photography.
During these experiments, participants learn essential techniques for reptile photography, including the proper use of macro and telephoto lenses, depth of field management, natural light control, and thoughtful use of artificial lighting. We explore different habitats and micro-habitats, paying special attention to a careful and quiet approach, to minimize disturbance and ensure the well-being of the animals. This program is ideal for those who want to develop their photography skills and deepen their knowledge about Portuguese herpetofauna in a technical, educational context and in total harmony with nature.
