THE PÓVOA DE VARZIM CITY PARK IS A PRIVILEGED SPOT FOR BIRD WATCHING, OFFERING A PEACEFUL HAVEN FOR NUMEROUS SPECIES, BOTH RESIDENT AND MIGRATORY. COMBINING PONDS, WOODEN AREAS AND OPEN SPACES, THIS URBAN PARK IS AN ACCESSIBLE AND CHARMING SPOT FOR THOSE WANT TO EXPLORE LOCAL BIODIVERSITY.

During birdwatching tours in Póvoa de Varzim City Park, participants will have the opportunity to identify a variety of species, from ducks, herons and coots that frequent the lakes, to passerine birds that inhabit the trees and bushes. Guided by experts, birders will learn to use binoculars and field guides to identify birds by song, plumage and behavior. In addition to field practice, the tours include educational moments on the importance of conserving urban green areas and the role they play in supporting biodiversity.
